Hello and welcome to my portfolio and this blog. I'm glad you found your way here and I hope that you're going to spend some time with me.
About me
My name is Selina and I'm currently based in Basel, Switzerland. I work as a Learning & Development Specialist for a big Swiss company. In my freetime, I enjoy roaming around with my cameras and discovering new places. I'm also quite invested in the Drum & Bass scene in Switzerland and I enjoy a good rave on the weekend.

How did I get into photography? A brief history
Photography has accompanied me my entire life. My grandfather was a passionate photographer and he must have shot hundreds (or maybe even thousands) of rolls of films. He documented me growing up, the everyday life of our family and all the holidays we went on. Furthermore, my mom worked for a photography lab in the 90s. So photography has always been a part of my life.

When I was a young child, I received my first analog point and shoot camera. The pictures I took were horrible, but I think - subconsciously - that was the start of my love for photography. As a teenager, I received a super cute pink Nikon Coolpix. I took so many cringe selfies with that camera :D
Around 2012, I got into fashion and lifestyle blogging. I wanted to take high quality pictures for my blog, so I started to take a real interest in cameras, lenses, settings and compositions. I attended an entry level course and since then, photography has been one of my biggest passions.
In 2022, I got obsessed with the pictures my grandfather took in the 90s and I decided to try out analog photography. I've learned so much over the past year and it has been so much fun - it's like re-discovering photography. I'll share more about this process in upcoming posts.

What can you expect?
On my portfolio, I want to share my best and most interesting work. However, here on the blog, I would like to create a space where we can nerd out about photography. I don't have many people in my life who are interested in this subject, so I want to share my thoughts, learnings and inspirations on here - in the hope that other people - like you, dear reader - might find them interesting and engage in a conversation.
I plan on writing posts about artists who inspire me, my gear, mistakes I've made and what I've learnt from them, travel diaries and so on. If that sounds interesting, why not stick around? I would also love to hear from you. Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments.
Thank you for reading and have a lovely day, Selina ♡
